CENTRAL ROMANA DONATES 16 HOMES TO EMPLOYEES, COMPLETING A 40-HOME PROJECT
Central Romana Corporation, Ltd. has delivered 16 new homes to employees and their families, completing a 40-home project in the tenth phase of the Quisqueya neighborhood in La Romana.
Over the years, Central Romana has donated approximately 1,977 homes to its employees in this community alone. Across La Romana, the company has provided homes and land lots to more than 5,000 employees and their families in various residential communities it has developed.
“We have continued this housing program across generations of employees because, at Central Romana, we believe that the well-being of our people is essential to the well-being of the company. We are proud to help them secure a home of their own, because they deserve it,” said company Executive Vice President Eduardo Martínez-Lima during the ceremony to present the home donation agreements.
The awarding of these homes reflects the company’s commitment to improving the quality of life of its employees and their families, in recognition of their dedication and years of service, which in some cases span up to 52 years with the company.
To help employees complete the finishing work on their individual homes, Central Romana provides each beneficiary with an interest-free loan of RD$300,000. This serves as an incentive that reflects the mutual commitment involved in completing the final details of each home.
Each home has a floor area of 65 square meters and includes a front porch, living-dining room, kitchen, bathroom, and three bedrooms. Constructed by Isidor Fernández Construction Company, the homes feature reinforced concrete roofs with waterproofing, finished walls, plumbing and electrical installations, potable water supply, and polished concrete floors.
The project also included the installation of essential utilities and external infrastructure, including water and sewer networks, electricity, sidewalks, curbs, paved streets, and a stormwater drainage system.
