AL HORFORD RECEIVES RECOGNITION FROM CENTRAL ROMANA DURING SPORTS CLINIC WITH YOUNG PEOPLE FROM LA ROMANA

Central Romana Corporation recognized the career, talent, and discipline of world-class basketball player Al Horford during a basketball clinic he organized for dozens of children and teenagers from the eastern region of the country.

The ‘Tribe Camp,’ supported by Central Romana, took place at the Eleoncio Mercedes Sports Complex in La Romana, where young people from the agricultural divisions of Guaymate and Higueral, as well as the sugarcane community of Guerrero, also participated.

‘At Central Romana, supporting Dominican youth through the sports programs we develop in our agricultural communities is always a priority. These young people see you as a role model, and for that, we are proud to recognize Al Horford for his achievements as a world-class athlete and his exemplary personal values,’ said Jorge Sturla, an executive of the sugar company.”

Upon receiving the recognition, the NBA champion with the Boston Celtics thanked the company for the honor and expressed his happiness with the commendable work being done for the youth of the province through programs that promote their overall development via sports. Al Horford affirmed his commitment to continuing his involvement in activities that are key to the progress and holistic development of Dominican youth.

To lead the basketball clinics, Horford was joined by Boston Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla and a large team of local and international instructors, who guided each participant through a series of exercises aimed at improving basketball fundamentals, while also fostering psychosocial development to complement their athletic training.
