The Minister of Housing and Buildings, Carlos Bonilla Sánchez, delivered to the athlete Marysabel Senyu her fully constructed home in the populous Cumajon sector of La Romana, fulfilling a promise made to the Central American medalist. The formal delivery by MIVED, through the Dominican Rebuild Plan, in coordination with the Central Romana company, comes six months after the request made to the official by El Show del Mediodía, following the uproar and indignation caused by a report in LISTIN, which revealed the precarious conditions in which the medalist lived.

To complete the work, 73 working days were carried out, so Minister Bonilla Sánchez said he feels very happy to be able to contribute to making Marysabel’s house, “with this plan that has repaired homes for more than 47 households, which translates into almost 200,000 families, who like her, have been able to go from living in a place in precarious conditions to a dignified and safe place.”

The construction consisted of the completion of the 154.63 square meter home, complete with block, concrete roof, 4 bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, and a gallery.

At the event, the governor of La Romana, Jacqueline Fernández Brito, thanked “Minister Bonilla, Central Romana, for the support to this young athlete, our pride, to the municipality of Villa Hermosa, and to President Luis Abinader, who will surely be happy with this outcome. We are here and we will continue to support causes like this.”

Senyu, for her part, thanked for the construction of her home, in the place where she was born and where she left to practice since she was a child, bringing the name of the Dominican Republic to the forefront.
