En su diseño se tomó en consideración emular a un ingenio azucarero, y de ahí nace su eslogan “El más dulce del Caribe”. Las tres terminales con las que cuenta son: la Internacional Comercial, la de Aviación Privada Internacional y la Doméstica, totalmente separadas una de otra. La Terminal de Aviación Comercial, ha sido dotada de los equipos más modernos, iluminación, sistemas de sonido, acondicionadores de aire, mostradores, sistemas de seguridad electrónico en sus puertas, sistemas de detección de incendios y máquinas de rayos X, entre otros.Para mayor comodidad y disfrute de los pasajeros la sala de espera cuenta con todos los servicios necesarios. Dispone además del Salón Premier, para pasajeros que deseen disfrutar de más privacidad a la espera de sus vuelos.La Terminal de Aviación Doméstica ha sido concebida de forma tal que con un servicio rápido y eficiente satisfaga las necesidades de los pasajeros en vuelos nacionales. Las tres terminales tienen estacionamiento para vehículos de manera independiente.El aeropuerto sirve como soporte para la llegada y salida de los pasajeros que llegan en cruceros, apoyados en procedimientos sencillos pero eficientes en materia de seguridad, operacional y de servicio. Sus objetivos son perfeccionar sus estándares en beneficio del buen nombre del turismo en la República Dominicana.Within its perimeter, the airport has an extension of 3,850,000 m2. The airport design emulates that of a sugar mill. From it, it’s slogan “the sweetest of the Caribbean”. It has three terminals: the Commercial International Terminal; the Private International Aviation Terminal; and the Domestic Terminal, all of which are completely separated from one another. The commercial aviation terminal has been equipped with the most modern equipment in terms of illumination, sound systems, air conditioners, check-in and information desks, electronic door security systems, fire detection systems, and x-ray machines, among others.For greater passenger comfort and pleasure, the gates have all the necessary facilities and amenities. There is also the Salón Premier, designed for those passengers in need of more privacy while awaiting their flight.The domestic aviation terminal was conceived in such a way that the needs of national flight passengers are met with fast and efficient service. All three terminals have independent parking areas.The airport also meets the needs of arriving and departing cruise-ship passengers, with simple but efficient procedures in terms of security, operations and services. Their goal is to excel on their standards to further the good name of tourism in the Dominican Republic.150
