La Romana.<\/em> Some 381 participants started off in the Interdivisional Baseball Tournament that organizes Central Romana, as a way of integration between the workers and their children the live in the agricultural communities of the company.<\/p>\n

The event, developed annually by the Sporting Department Central Romana, is held in the form of Little League for categories aged 11 to 14 and an open category for adults, with no age limit.<\/p>\n

All 7 agricultural divisions of the company participate in the tournament. These are Chav\u0655\u00f3n Abajo, Cuy\u00e1, Baigua, Higueral, Lechugas, Guaymate, and La Higuera teams.<\/p>\n

The participating teams of the Interdivisional tournament represent its agricultural division by having won the Interbateyes tournament.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

“For more than 50 years our company has organized these type of recreational physical activity, which not only portrays the sporting skills of the participants but also the camaraderie, team work, and the integration of our communities.” established Professor Arturo Morales, Coordinator of the Department.<\/p>\n

Also Morales stated that this tournament receives the full sponsorship of Central Romana in the delivery of the sporting utilities, uniforms, transportation of the participants, and even the payment of umpires. “The company\u2019s management has always supported the investment of resources in sports, which can promote and provide for the mental and physical health development of those who practice it” he emphasized.<\/p>\n

Apart from the interdivisional baseball tournament, the Sporting Department of Central Romana also holds male and female softball events, soccer, basketball and volleyball tournaments, among other disciplines like track and field.<\/p>\n
