The Polytechnic Institutes Fundaci\u00f3n MIR for girls and MIR Esperanza for boys recently held their graduation ceremony, where 149 young individuals became technical high school graduates in various occupational fields, accrediting them as new professionals.<\/p>\n

On this occasion, the 19th graduation ceremony of the Fundaci\u00f3n MIR schools included the first group of graduates in \u201cAgricultural Operations Eng. Eduardo Mart\u00ednez Lima,\u201d a specialty created in honor of the late Executive Vice President of Central Romana, whose sponsorship supports the educational and social programs developed by Fundaci\u00f3n MIR. A total of seven students specialized in agricultural production, adhering to quality standards, following environmental protection norms, and ensuring food safety.<\/p>\n

During the graduation ceremony, led by Mrs. Lian Fanjul and Lyanne Azqueta Fanjul, President and Executive Vice President of Fundaci\u00f3n MIR, a total of 26 university scholarships were awarded to deserving young individuals from La Romana. This was part of a program sponsored by Mr. Alfonso Fanjul, CEO and President of Central Romana, and an agreement between MIR and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (MESCYT).<\/p>\n

The graduates were certified as professional technicians in the areas of Hospitality Services: Hotel Services, Gastronomic Services, Accounting, Design and Sewing, Administration and Computer Applications, Nursing, and finally Agricultural Operations.<\/p>\n

Lian Fanjul de Azqueta, CEO of Fundaci\u00f3n MIR, delivered the keynote address at the event, congratulating the graduates and urging them to continue their education so that they can become successful men and women in Dominican society.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I started with the dream of education, I remember the words of Father Emiliano Tardif when he told me, \u2018Lian, many people can educate, but if you don\u2019t evangelize, you are not doing what God has asked you to do; remember that evangelizing is the most important thing,\u2019 and I thank God that to this day, we have continued with this purpose,\u201d said Mrs. Fanjul de Azqueta.<\/p>\n

In her speech to the students, she emphasized that \u201cthe diploma you receive today is the diploma I never received.\u201d She added that this group not only graduated from high school but also already possesses a technical professional career that allows them to give their best and be examples in any field they choose, provided they continue enriching their lives with knowledge,\u201d she concluded.<\/p>\n

Out of the 149 new high school graduates, five graduated with academic honors and were awarded scholarships sponsored by Mr. Alfonso Fanjul, President of Central Romana. The students Anderson F\u00e9lix \u00c1vila, Crismeiry Concepci\u00f3n, Samuel Rojas Rodr\u00edguez, Karla Batista, and Yakeisy Adames expressed their gratitude to Mr. Alfonso for his contribution to the education of young people in La Romana through his important scholarship program, enabling more than 30 students to successfully complete their university education to date.<\/p>\n

Additionally, as part of the collaboration agreement between the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (MESCYT) and Fundaci\u00f3n MIR, the higher education institution granted full scholarships to 21 students who maintained academic excellence throughout their studies.<\/p>\n

During the event, Mrs. Lyanne Azqueta Fanjul, Vice President of the organization, encouraged the graduates to pursue their path towards hope, without forgetting Fundaci\u00f3n MIR, which will always be there to welcome them with open arms.<\/p>\n

Likewise, Monique Acevedo, General Principal of the MIR schools, delivered an emotional speech to her students. She also expressed her gratitude to all those who are part of the educational community for their dedication and commitment to the integral development of their students, and especially to the efforts of each parent and student for every goal achieved.<\/p>\n

The ceremony was attended by Monsignor Jes\u00fas Castro Marte, Bishop of the Diocese of Nuestra Se\u00f1ora de la Altagracia in Hig\u00fcey, Mr. Guillermo N\u00fa\u00f1ez, Director of the Educational District 05-03 La Romana, the main executives of Fundaci\u00f3n MIR, as well as the graduates\u2019 families, friends, and loved ones who filled the Multi-Purpose Hall of the aforementioned school.<\/p>\n
