Central Romana is the largest cattle breeder in the country.<\/p><\/div>\n

AGROCARNE, which is dedicated to the manufacture of meat products based on cattle raised by Central Romana Corporation, announced that it was certified under the Food Safety System Certification (FSSC 22000).<\/p>\n

The certification was granted by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance, making AGROCARNE the first meat processing plant in the Dominican Republic to obtain the FSSC 22000 and thus joins a limited group of companies that hold the referred quality standard in Central America and the Caribbean region.<\/p>\n

The information establishes that the scope of the certification ranges from the slaughter and processing of cattle into strip meat, as well as sealed-packed cuts of meat, and finally, the processing and packaging of ground beef patties for hamburgers.<\/p>\n

Eduardo Mart\u00ednez-Lima Jr., Vice President of Administration of Central Romana, referred to the certification as \u201cAn achievement of the hard work and effort of all our collaborators in AGROCARNE, who assumed with great dedication the goal of being pioneers as a meat company to be certified under the FSSC 22000 standard \u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are proud of our legacy of being the largest cattle breeder in the country, developing recognized cattle breeds of the highest quality, through the significant investments we are making in our AGROCARNE plant\u2019\u2019.<\/p>\n

Finally, the company also highlighted that by obtaining the guarantee of this food safety management system takes the first step into the export of meat to the United States.<\/p>\n

AGROCARNE history<\/p>\n

Agrocarne is a business division of Central Romana Corporation that since 1966 processes and manufactures meat and dairy products. Its modern meat aging plant plays an important role in the market for premium cuts under the Romangus and Romana Red brands, as well as cold cuts and cheeses with the Higueral products that includes salami, hams, sausage, hamburgers, mortadelas, mozzarella cheese and burrata.<\/p>\n
