CRESO congratulates athletes for winning 107 medals
Santo Domingo. – The sporting program CRESO (Creating Olympic Dreams, translated from spanish) congratulated the Dominican athletes that participated at the 23rd Central American and Caribbean Games held in Barranquilla, Colombia, for obtaining 107 medals among gold, silver and bronze. Their outstanding achievement ranked the Dominican Republic in 5th place along the other participating countries.
Of the total of medals obtained, 92 were won by 57 athletes who are under the sponsorship of CRESO.
CRESO is a nonprofit that invests in sports development of Dominican athletes of high performance in Olympic disciplnes, accompanied by academic training. It was established in the year 2011 under the auspices of a business community involving the companies CLARO, FERQUIDO, Banco Popular Dominicano, Cacao Rizek, Grupo Rica, Grupo SID, Universal, Total, Grupo INICIA, CENTRAL ROMANA CORPORATION, and the Dominican Olympic Committee.
CRESO currently invests in fifteen Olympic disciplines: athletics, basketball, boxing, fencing, equestrian, golf, gymnastics, judo, karate, weightlifting, wrestling, swimming, taekwondo, tennis and table tennis.
